I know, I play games with my Xbox as well, but I also know a couple of people who own Xboxs, but don't play any games on it, they just use it to watch TV and (gasp!) listen to music! Who would have thought it, £200 for a device that plays music through your TV.

Any job requires you to "work". You aren't going to just play whatever game you want, doing whatever you want e.t.c. you have to actually contribute and be usefull to the company to keep your job. So yeah, it isn't a "perfect" job, but it's still pretty damn good and by far the best job I've ever had until I moved onto design.
Obviously there are good companies to work for and bad companies, but again, that's the same for any industry...

On the contrary, isn't it EXACTLY like Sony not to learn and rip off what other companies are doing with their peripherals? Dual shock came from the N64's analogue stick, Sixaxis came from the Wii-mote and when no one used it they tried something closer to the Wii-mote, the Move.
Who honestly DIDN'T expect the Kinect to be Sonyized? I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but they do it EVERYTIME.
